The moving truck has pulled up from Substack. The smoke from the ninja smoke bomb has cleared. Here we are.

If you followed the link from the old place, you already know why we moved. I'm not going to rehash it here. If you missed it, the original post is still over on Substack and it explains everything.

If you're new here: welcome. You're about to find out what this place is.

This is not your usual slick, professional, corporate-speak publication. This is me. Richard Iorio. Humble writer, creator, and a person who does not have a prim or proper bone in his body.

So, heads up: sometimes I swear. Sometimes I say things in ways that are not exactly polished. That is not a lack of care. It is the opposite. Being direct and honest, not hiding behind a persona, is the easiest and most real way I know how to be.

If I drop an occasional fuck, shit, or even just say crap, know that the content is what matters. The window dressing is sometimes used to hide the news. Here, the news is the point.

Have a look around. I know the place is empty right now. I'm still moving the furniture in. But things are about to get busy, and I'll go into detail in a few days.

Here's what's coming this week:

Obviously, there's this post, which is rambling a little and I'm fine with that.

Later today: a post about how the Colonial Gothic Kickstarter failed and what that means for the future. It's honest. It's direct. It's worth reading.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be moving some posts over from Substack with edits. They're good and I don't want new readers to have to hunt them down.

I have a new series in the works on games of the 18th century. If you've ever wanted to know what card games or board games people were actually playing in the colonial period, that's for you.

I'm also working on an autopsy of what happened with the Kickstarter and why it failed. Real data, real analysis, no excuses.

As for news, there's a lot coming. I'm still putting things into place, but I'm not over-promising. When I say cool things are coming, I mean it.

Here's one hint: part one of the long-awaited, extremely late Colonial Gothic campaign is out next year. Hell Hath No Fury, part one of a three-adventure arc, is titled Hear the Drums of War. That's all you're getting for now.

I thought this was going to be a simple "hey, here's the new place." It reflects where I am right now: a lot to say, and wanting to say it.

So. Welcome to the new home. Grab something from the fridge. Keep your feet off the furniture.

Let's have some fun.
